The European Commission's communication on Artificial Intelligence for Europe and the Coordinated Action Plan between with the Member States set out to boost the EUs technological and industrial capacity and the AI uptake across the economy. It calls for stepping up investments in research and innovation, and enhancing collaboration in this area across the EU.
These investments in R&I are expected to bring the benefits of AI and robotics rapidly to all key sectors from manufacturing to health, through automotive and agriculture, in both the public and private sectors.
The European Commission has dedicated close to 400 M€ to in a series of calls in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and related areas in Work Programme 2020. The objective is to foster cooperation among the best research teams, industrial actors, and user organisations across Europe.
